vvtiVariable Valve Timing with intelligence, is an automobile variable valve timeing technology developed by Toyota, similar to the i-VTEC technology by Honda. introduced in 1996 VVT-i varies the timing of the intake valves by adjusting the relationship between the camshaft drive (belt, scissor-gear or chain) and intake camshaft. Engine oil pressure is applied to an actuator to adjust the camshaft position.

Out of all the cars that can be bought. the most common are the honda civics, and integras. The reason these two cars are the most popular choice is because they are easy to find and the aftermarket parts are easy to come by. Both cars can come with VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control). With affordable bolt on turbos, new intakes, headers, and catback exausts. You can have yourself an afordable quick car.integra

In all honesty im just jumping ahead here because reading engine specs about cars from the 40’s to the 70’s is just BORING. They all mainly focus on horse power. Wheres the sleek, aggressive, and cutom looks? Don’t get me wrong, there are some amazing cars from those years but im just more of a modern tuner car kind of guy. But hey enough about that, lets start off with JDM (Japanese domestic market).JDM cars have been historically limited by a gentalmens agreement among manufacturers to 280 horsepwer (ps) and a top speed of 180 km/h (112 mph), mostly due to safety concerns, The horsepower limit was lifted in 2004. However, the speed limit of 180 km/h remains in effect. many JDM sports have speedometers that only go up to 180km/h, even though the car would be capable of much higher speeds if not for the built-in limiter. But that doesn’t mean you can’t take that limiter off.  ;]

the 1940’s

here is a good example of what the cars from the 1940’s  looked like. You can clearly see the wagon like body style, and you can see how the grill is located at the low part of the front end. These cars have a very smooth round body style and have that round hood that one can see on many of these cars.
